What does everyone at the club call you?
AJ
Which year did you first get involved with the club?
1965 Dowling shield
How did you first come to the club?
After finishing under 16 churches cricket, decided to try out with Fitzroy in 1967, starting the 5th XI
Why do you give your time to the club?
After playing from 1967 to 1998, I like being able to contribute to the current generation of players and the continuing improvement of the club. Researching the club history has also been a particular interest.
Your favourite club memory?
Undoubtedly the 1993-94 First XI premiership under John Scholes. The confidence in the team built throughout the season, with a number of players having their personal best seasons that year. Although we were rank outsiders against Melbourne in the final, we ended up having a convincing win.
Did you play? Where and what was your best moment?
The 1993-94 premiership was the best moment, but getting Sir Garfield Sobers out in 1979 when he played for North Melbourne was pretty cool.
What do you do away from the club?
Now retired, but by profession was a physicist, specializing in radiation protection
Favourite cricketer, past or present?
Probably Ian Chappell while I was growing up and later on Allan Border
